Bodyline Sports Club produced a top-class performance to record a title-winning 5-0 victory over Smart Football Leaders in the penultimate women's league match of the Mumbai District Football Association (MDFA) League 2014-15 at the Karnatak Sporting Association ground yesterday.

Striker Kimberly Fernandez scored a brace while Kimberly Miranda, Zarastyn Mistry and Ameeta Venkat chipped in with a goal each to complete the winning tally. That margin of victory put pressure on SP Academy, who were also in contention of winning the coveted title. The Academy, now required to defeat Companeroes Sports Club win by a clear three-goal margin in the concluding league encounter.
However, they could only manage a solitary 1-0 win against Companeroes. India Under-19 player Abeer Arsiwala struck early to keep SP's hopes alive. Thereafter, the Academy girls tried their best and created a number of chances against a resolute outfit but were unable to add to the scoreline and fell short of their target.
Rizvi's Sidak scalps six on Day One
Left-arm spinner Sidak Singh took six wickets to put Rizvi College in a commanding position against Jhunjhunwala College in the final of the junior inter-college cricket tournament yesterday. Rudra Dande's unbeaten 63 (70balls, 11x4, 1x6) saw Rizvi finish Day One on 80 for one in 20 overs at MIG Cricket Club ground yesterday.
Earlier, electing to bat, Jhunjhunwala struggled against Rizvi's disciplined bowling and were restricted to 240. Sidak finished with impressive figures of 26.5-5-87-6. Chinmay Sutar (48) and Kunal Chalke (43) were the top-scorers for Jhunjhunwala. The tournament is organised by Junior College Sports Association and sponsored by Rizvi Education Society. The winner will be awarded the Saqib Rizvi Memorial Trophy.
Corporate football tournament

DPZ's cricket coaching camp
Dadar Parsee Zoroastrian (DPZ) club will organise a free cricket coaching camp in the summer vacation for BMC school students. Interested BMC students in the age group of 12 to 14 years should meet Mangesh Bhalekar between 9 to 11 am by April 12 at DPZ club (Dadkar Maidan, opposite Ruia College) with their age proof and school identity card. There is no compulsion of wearing cricket whites at the selection trials. DPZ will provide a kit to all selected players free of cost.
