Lewis Hamilton is the best: Narain Karthikeyan

Nico Rosberg may have won the recent Spanish Formula One Grand Prix edging past his Mercedes teammate Lewis Hamilton, but India's fastest man on wheels, Narain Karthikeyan believes that it's only a minor blip in the reigning world champion's 2015 F1 campaign.

Hamilton clinched an impressive 93 points out of a possible 100 from the first four F1 races this season before Rosberg won the Spanish GP last weekend to ignite a world championship battle. "It's a good tussle between Lewis and Nico but Lewis is technically the better driver by far," Karthikeyan told mid-day on the sidelines of a promotional event with his sponsors Tata Racing at the SMAASH Sky Karting track here yesterday.

Hamilton is currently in top spot of the World Championship race with 111 points with Nico breathing down his neck on 91 and Ferrari's Sebastian Vettel third with 80 points. And Karthikeyan is certain that no one can stop Hamilton from winning a back-to-back world title. "For me, Hamilton has been the best F1 driver for some time now. He is one of the most versatile drivers in F1 today," added India's first F1 driver, who currently drives in the Super Formula series in Japan, which is the fastest single seater racing series outside F1.

The 38-year-old also registered a podium finish last month, finishing third in Suzuka. Next up, is a race at the Okayama Circuit, which is a new track. "It's new and untested, so that's an exciting challenge," said the 38-year-old, who emphasised that he has no plans of quitting the world of fast cars any time soon. "The thought of
retirement hasn't even occurred to me yet. I'll race for another couple of years at least and then we'll see. I can't think of life beyond racing," he signed off.
