A similar issue of sub-standard quality balls given to top division teams had surfaced in the 2008 Kanga League season. Several âA' and âB' division clubs have complained to MCA officials regarding the poor quality of balls supplied.u00a0
While a few teams faced problems in getting shine on the ball which is an important component to help generate swing, other clubs have complaints regarding the size and shape of the balls.
Some of the teams did not receive balls of standard sizes (ideally seven centimeters). "They are all of various sizes. It becomes difficult for our bowlers to grip the ball. It can be frustrating sometimes," a team official told MiD DAY.
Some teams even faced problems with the ball going out of shape after a few overs. u00a0The MCA has taken a note of these complaints and assured the clubs of better quality balls.
"We have written to the manufacturer (of the balls) about the complaints we have received. We have told them to replace the balls. We are awaiting their response now," MCA Joint Honorary Secretary Nitin Dalal said.u00a0
