Earlier, England beat reigning World champions Australia 2-1 to win the bronze medal playoff match. Earlier, two goals in the last four minutes helped Belgium snatch a 2-1 victory over India in the 5-6 position playoff tie of The World No 5 team finished the tournament fifth while hosts India had to be content with sixth after playing a high intensity match.
Equal possession
Both India and Belgium shared almost equal possession throughout the match and penetrated the striking circle at regular intervals.
Indian skipper Sardar Singh was in his elements as he duly performed his role of a playmaker passing the ball to the forwards. The hosts had an excellent opportunity to go up on the board when Yousuf Affan missed a reverse-hit.
