Formula One star Jenson Button has confirmed that he and his model wife Jessica Michibata have decided to split up after just one year of marriage
London: British Formula One driver Jenson Button has split with wife Jessica Michibata after a year of marriage, his spokesperson confirmed yesterday.

The pair is said to have parted ways amicably after tying the knot last year in December. The marriage had taken place in Maui, Hawaii.
"Jenson and Jessica have decided to go their separate ways and it is very amicable. There is no one else involved," Button's spokesman was quoted as saying by the BBC.
The former F1 world champion and the Japanese-Argentine model had confirmed their marriage on Twitter on New Year's Eve last year.
The couple, who met in a hotel bar in Tokyo in 2008, had broken up in 2010 after meeting two years back, but then patched things up to get married last year.
According to British tabloid The Sun, the distance between the pair caused the split.
After getting hitched in Maui, Jessica returned to her busy professional life as a model in Tokyo while McLaren driver Jenson was travelling around the world from one F1 circuit to the next. The Brit recently spoke about his unconventional marriage to the lingerie model.
He said: "We don't see each other any more than before we were married. I can't say, 'I'm going to have a weekend off from F1 and come to Japan and see you'. And Jessie has work commitments that she can't just drop either."
