Montreal: One year after celebrating his maiden victory in Montreal Daniel Ricciardo admitted Sunday that he feels he is "banging his head against a wall" after finishing 13th in the Canadian Grand Prix.
The 25-year-old Australian started ninth on the grid behind his Red Bull team-mate Daniil Kvyat, but was unable to hold that position and finished behind Spanish rookie Carlos Sainz of Toro Rosso. "We tried and nothing worked," he said.
"We didn't have pace. At the moment all I can do is laugh. Race cars are complicated. Some days you don't understand them.
"Unfortunately, we haven't really got on top of it this weekend, but we didn't expect to be that slow in the race.
"I knew I wasn't fighting for points, but I was still fighting and trying to get as much out of it as I could. It was just one of those races where you go round and round."
