Rosberg has struggled to match teammate Lewis Hamilton this year. He has won five races to the Briton's 10 and has been unable to put up much of a fight against Hamilton's charge to a third world championship, which the 30-year-old sealed last month with three races to spare. But the German has hit a purple patch of form recently, having taken pole position in the last five races and won the last two rounds in Mexico and Brazil.

He arrives in Abu Dhabi gunning for his first career hat-trick of wins. "I've had two really great weekends now in Mexico and Brazil, so I'm heading into the final race on a massive high. I'm aiming to end the season on a big positive this time around," said Rosberg, whose victory a fortnight ago in Brazil earned him second place in the overall standings.

Hamilton, meanwhile, will be equally determined to cap the most successful year of his career with win here. Hamilton is gunning for his 44th career win, driving car number 44 at a time when the UAE is celebrating 44 years of its formation.
