ST Francis D'Assisi (Borivli) skipper Elton Quadros may not have the perfect eyesight, but he sure has an eye for goals. Despite having to do without his spectacles ufffd power of minus-five inu00a0 right eye andu00a0 minus-four in the left ufffd which are not permitted on the football field, Elton has notched up an impressiveu00a0 eight goals from eight matches this far in the season.

Yesterday, he scored a brace as St Francis beat St Mary's SSC 3-1 in an MSSA U-16 Div I inter-school tie at Azad Maidan. Elton hurt his retina during a local tournament two years ago, but the spectacles have hardly been a limitation.u00a0u00a0
"I can't see the faces of players properly, but I don't find it difficult to score as I can see the ball well," he told MiD DAY yesterday. Elton's father John, a formeru00a0 Mumbai Customs and Mahindra player (1979-85) was worried initially when his son had to don glasses, but is now convinced he'll do well. "He is better than what I was at his age," said John. Mum Nichael said: "He tells my husband that he'll win more trophies than him. I'm sure he will."
