>> She finished her college in Kanodia Girls College, Jaipur. She studied sociology.
>> She has a husband named Virender Singh Poonia. The two of them work for the Indian Railways
>> She is a gold medal winner at the 2010 Commonwealth Games
>> She has won 2 bronze medal at the Asian Games 2006 and 2010.
>> She was awarded the Padma Shri award in 2011 by the government.
>> She is only the sixth Indian to enter the final events for track and field at the Olympics. The others are - Milkha Singh, PT Usha, Sriram Singh, Anju Bobby George and Gurbachan Singh Randhawa.
