UK United win rink football title

Uncle's Kitchen United lifted the Independence Cup rink football title at the Poddar turf in Santacruz recently. They beat Joga Bonito 5-2 in the final.

UK United skipper Aaron D'Costa and striker Roger Sam scored a brace each while Johnson Mathews added a goal to the tally.

For Joga Bonito, Bipin scored both the goals. D'Costa was adjudged player of the tournament. His UK United teammates, Shanon Pereira won the best goalkeeper award and Mathews picked up the Golden Boot for his six goals.

UK United received the winner's cheque of Rs 25,000 from chief guest and former India footballer Steven Dias. Joga Bonito were awarded Rs 15,000.
