Opportunistic striker Om Wadekar, 15, guided Dr Antonio Da Silva (Dadar) to a 2-0 win over a plucky SVKM International School (Vile Parle) in an engrossing MSSA boys U-16 Div-III pre-quarterfinal at the St Francis D'Assisi ground, Borivli on Thursday.
Both, the Dadar and Vile Parle boys, were engaged in a keen tussle for supremacy as they launched a series of attacks on either goal. But Dr Antonio Da Silva's captain Om turned things in their favour when he scored the first goal just before half-time. His shot hit a rival defender and deflected into the goal, catching custodian Pranit Shah on the wrong foot.

In the second session, Om once doubled the lead when he pounced on a loose ball after a mix-up in the SVKM defence and gently directed the ball into an open net.
Earlier, St Teresa's (Bandra) beat Bai Kabibai (Fort) by a comfortable 2-0 margin in a Div-IV match. Shan Shaikh and Agnelo Lobo scored for the Bandra side.
Also, Jamnabhai Narsee (Juhu) snatched a 1-0 win over St Mary's ICSE (Mazgaon) with Raghav Singh scoring the lone goal of the match.
