Manchester City's Benjamin Mendy charged with rape

Manchester City suspended Benjamin Mendy on Thursday after Cheshire police confirmed the Frenchman has been charged with four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault.

In a statement, City said: "Manchester City can confirm that following his being charged by police, Benjamin Mendy has been suspended pending an investigation."
