The Welshman, who celebrated his 27th birthday on Saturday, delivered the good news on Twitter. Bale tweeted a collage with Emma holding up her hand to show off her engagement ring, while the pair is also seen with friends.
The caption said: "She said yes!! This is a birthday weekend I won't forget for a long time." The former Tottenham player is currently on holidays with Rhys-Jones in the Balearic Islands (Spain) where he proposed her. Bale has two daughters with her - Alba Violet (3) and Nava Valentine (four months).
The world's most expensive footballer has had a fantastic 2016. His impressive form for Real Madrid helped them win the Champions League this season. He followed that up with heroic displays in Wales' semi-final run at the European Championships in France, where he scored in each of their three group games in Group B to help them top the four-team table.
He then helped them to victories over Northern Ireland and Belgium in the knockout stages, before Chris Coleman's side lost to eventual winners Portugal in the last four.
Bale is known to be a family man, and rarely goes out partying unlike many of his colleagues. He prefers spending time with his family or play golf.
