During the first half of play, St Mary's dominated the game and hogged most of the possession. However, in the seventh minute, it was the Kandivli side who had a first shy at goal. Harsh Manjrekar sneaked past St Mary's defenders and attempted a long range shot, but he mistimed it and the ball landed wide. During the penalty shootout, St Lawrence's Saurabh Deorukhkar and Krishi Thakur made no mistake to score. Mazagaon skipper and goalkeeper Ronit More firmly stopped shots from Vasant Kamaraj, Aftab Khan and Nayan Patil. For St Mary's, only Mohammad Zakharia scored. Roshan successfully blocked shots from Omar Khan, Danial Ansari, Craig D'Souza and Danish Parmar to seal the win for St Lawrence. "I am glad that I could do my bit for the team. I was looking to save as many goals as possible. In the end we were lucky to win the game," Roshan said.
