St Xavier's High School (Vile Parle) earned a promotion to Division III in style with a come-from-behind 4-1 win via tie breaker over Lakshdham High School (Goregaon) after scores were locked 1-1 at the end of regulation time, in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA)-organised inter-school boys' under-16 Division IV final at Azad Maidan yesterday.

Soham Natu opened the goal-scoring for the Goregaon outfit in the 14th minute off a free kick conversion. At half-time, Lakshdham were leading 1-0. On resumption, the Vile Parle side tried hard to break Lakshdham's defence. In the 35th minute, Xavier's were awarded a penalty after a handball from opposition team's Abhilash Chandanshive. In the very next minute, Joshua D'Souza made no mistake and slotted the ball into the net to make it 1-1.
In the penalty shootout, Aaarav D'Almeida, Enroy D'Souza, Joshua D'Souza and Ayush Joshi were on target for the Vile Parle side. When it was Lakshdham's turn, St Xavier's sent midfielder Enroy as a goalkeeper in place Abdul Hamid Shaikh. Enroy saved shots of Sarang Mistry and Rishikesh Pandey while he couldn't stop Soham Natu. "We played a good game. I would like to thank my team, coaches Ketan Gadekar, Robin Baptista and Maxy D'Souza and parents for their support. I am glad I could help my team even during the penalty shootout," said Enroy.
