New York: Christine Bleakley is not one of those WAGs who would live by their husband or boyfriend's earnings.
Even as her star beau Frank Lampard prepares to live life in the United States after signing up for New York City FC, Bleakley insisted that she wants to carve out her own career in the USA. Lampard is expected to play in the Major Soccer League only in the next season.
Speaking about her upcoming move to the US, the TV host told New York Post: "I'll try to make this work for him (Lampard), but (I) don't want to live off him.
"Back home, I'm on Ireland's channel and do ITV documentaries - a music special, an Ireland and Britain tour. (I will be) still doing that until his season starts.
With all this to-ing-and-fro-ing, no idea what my career here will be."
Discussing her glamourous image, she added: "I'm 5-foot-9. In heels I shoot right up. I go to the gym with him⦠do running and biking. Soccer's not my thing, but I now go to every home game."
Lampard and Bleakley began dating in 2009 after the football star split from Elen Rivas, mum to his daughters Luna and Isla.
Looking for an apartment
"I love it here (New York). Love Bloomingdale's. Love this walking city, although I don't always know where I'm heading.
And with firefighters, police, Belfast's Madison Square Garden workers, I love the Irish connection. (We're) stuck in a hotel now, we're looking for an apartment.
I've been here before, but you need a feel for the place. Don't want to get it wrong. People are helping but, basically, just Frank and I are looking."
