During the second T20I match against Sri Lanka, Team India's promising opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal attained a new feat in his ever-growing international career

The star left-hander continued his rich vein in form and became the first-ever player to complete 1,000 runs in international cricket in this calendar year

In the second T20I, Team India's opening batsman accumulated 30 runs off just 15 deliveries which was laced with 3 fours and 2 sixes. That day, he batted with a strike rate of 200.00

This year, featuring in just 13 matches, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 1,023 runs with an average of 63.93 and a strike rate of 94.54. He also has two centuries and five half-centuries to his name

At numbers two and three, his distant rivals are Kusal Mendis (888 runs in 26 matches, with six fifties) and Ibrahim Zadran of Afghanistan (844 runs in 25 matches, with a century and eight fifties)
