Women's Premier League 2023, DC vs UPW: Top five players to look out for

The fifth match of the Women's Premier League 2023 (WPL2023) brings you a clash between Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz. Both the teams are coming off a win and would want to continue that. Delhi Capitals thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore by 60 runs in their first match of the WPL 2023. And UP Warriorz beat Gujrat by 3 wickets. Both teams want to continue their winning streak. Shafali Verma

Verma is an Indian cricketer who plays for the India women's national cricket team. In 2019, at the age of 15, she became the youngest cricketer to play in a Women's Twenty20 International match for India. In June 2021, she became the youngest player, to represent India in all three formats of international cricket.
Her knock of 73 in the same game made her the youngest Indian woman to register a half-century in international cricket. Verma also went on to bag the player of the series award. Another highlight of Verma's career was her knock of 124 for India A against Australia A at Brisbane in December 2019.

Jemimah Rodrigues

Rodrigues is an Indian professional cricketer who plays for the Indian National Women’s cricket team. She is an all-rounder and has also played for Mumbai women’s cricket team. She is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm off break bowler. She made her international debut in 2018 across ODIs and T20Is, and quite steadily has become the second most reliable batsman in the shortest format after Smriti Mandhana.

Born into a sports family, Jemima's father was a junior coach in cricket at her own school. She was selected in the Indian squad for the three-match ODI series against South Africa in February 2018. She made her T20 international debut for Indian on 13th February 2018. Her ODI debut was against Australia on 12th March 2018.

Alyssa Jean Healy

Healy is an Australian cricketer who plays for the Australian women's national team and New South Wales in domestic cricket, as well as the Sydney Sixers in the WBBL. A right-handed batter and wicket-keeper, she is the daughter of Greg Healy, who was part of the Queensland squad, while her uncle Ian Healy was Australia's Test wicket-keeper and held the world record for the most Test dismissals. In December 2018, the International Cricket Council (ICC) named her the T20I Player of the Year. In September 2019, during Australia's series against Sri Lanka, Healy played in her 100th WT20I match.

Deepthi

Deepthi was born on August 24, 1997 in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. She is the youngest of her seven siblings. She started going to the ground with her elder brother Sumit, a former fast bowler who played for Uttar Pradesh. Eventually, she started attending practice sessions with her brother at the Eklavya Sports Stadium. 
Deepthi made her international cricket debut in an ODI against South on November 28, 2014 at the age of 17. She made her T20I debut two years later against Australia. She and Poonam Raut were involved in a record-opening partnership of 320 runs against South Africa in the quadrangular series on 15 May 2017.

Grace Harris

Harris is a right-handed batter and right-arm off-spin bowler who made her debut for Australia in a T20 international against Ireland on a UK tour in 2015. She made 103 from 55 balls – and also took four wickets – in a match for the Brisbane Heat against the Sydney Sixers in her debut Women’s Big Bash League season. 
In January 2016, Grace was named in the Australian squad for one-day and T20 internationals against India. She is one of the best strikers in Women’s cricket at the moment. The ability of Harris to bat aggressively at the lower order and bowl some overs as well makes her a perfect fit for any T20 side. Harris is playing for UP Warriorz in the WPL 2023, and she proved her class in the very first match.
