Murali Vijay is an Indian cricketer who has opened the batting for India in international matches (Tests and ODIs) and is a former player from the Chennai Super Kings team in the IPL.

Murali Vijay married Nikita Vanjara in 2012. The couple have three children together - two sons and a daughter.

Murali Vijay has represented Chennai Super Kings from the inaugural season till IPL 2013 but he moved from his franchise.

One of his standout performances was when Chennai Super Kings won the IPL in 2010. That year, Murali Vijay scored 127 runs in 56 balls against the Rajasthan Royals, which is one of the fastest centuries in IPL history.

Murali Vijay played for Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in IPL 2014 season and then moved on.

Murali Vijay was bought by Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) at the 2015 IPL auctions for a huge amount.

Subsequently, Murali Vijay was named the captain of the Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in IPL 2016.

Murali Vijay represents Tamil Nadu in first-class cricket and has served the state with stellar performances throughout his career.

In the 2018 IPL auctions, Murali Vijay made a return to Chennai Super Kings for a price of Rs 2 crore.
