T20 World Cup 2024: The Afghans' superiority

Afghanistan can no longer be labelled as "minnows" in the cricket world and the side is proving their worth in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. With consistent performances, Afghanistan players are dominating the charts in the marquee event

The highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup 2024 is Rahmanullah Gurbaz. He is topping the list with 281 runs in seven matches. In third place comes his opening partner Ibrahim Zadran who has managed to accumulate 229 runs in the same number of matches

With the ball, speedster Fazalhaq Farooqi is enjoying the top spot with 16 wickets in seven games. Along with him, his captain Rashid Khan is sharing the third spot with 14 scalps to his name. Also, Naveen-Ul-Haq is sharing the fifth spot with 13 wickets in the T20 World Cup 2024

Fazalhaq Farooqi also tops the list of the players with the best bowling figures. He has figures which read as five wickets for just nine runs in four overs with an economy of 2.25

Yet again Afghanistan's opening pair has their names registered on the list for the most number of fifties in the T20 World Cup 2024. Gurbaz is at the top with three half-centuries, followed by Zadran with two

Fazalhaq Farooqi is among the two players who managed to register a five-wicket haul. The second player is West Indies' Akeal Hosein

Gurbaz is in second place for the most sixes in the ongoing marquee event and also in fifth place for the most number of fours. Zadran has his name registered on the second spot on the list for the most number of fours

The opening pair is also among the players with altogether the most number of boundaries in the event. Gurbaz sits in second place with 34 boundaries and Zadran in fifth place with 29 boundaries
