During the T20 World Cup 2024 match, Australia's speedster Mitchell Starc dismissed Bangladesh's opening batsman Tanzid Hasan on a duck. With this, he scripted history by becoming the bowler with the most number of wickets in the men's World Cups
In the T20 World Cups, Mitchell Starc has 30 scalps registered under his name and in the ODI World Cups, he has bagged 65 wickets. The tally goes up to 95 which is the highest number of wickets by any bowler in the World Cup history
Starc ended with the figures of 21 runs for one wicket in four overs. The Aussies' pacer bowled with an economy of 5.25
Coming second on the list is Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga who has 56 and 38 wickets in ODI and T20 World Cups, respectively. Shakib Al Hasan is in third place with a tally of 92 wickets. The fourth place is in the name of New Zealand's Trent Boult with 87 wickets in both World Cups and in fifth place comes Sri Lankan legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan who 79 wickets in World Cup history
