Faf du Plessis made his international debut for South Africa in 2011 in an ODI game against India
Du Plessis, who was a Kolpak player prior to his international debut, soon became a mainstay in the Proteas middle-order in all formats of the game
He has appeared in 69 Tests, 143 ODIs, and 50 T20Is till date. He averages over 40 in Tests, 47.47 in ODIs and over 35 in T20Is
Du Plessis made his captaincy debut for the Proteas just 4 games after his T20 debut. He went on to captain them in all three formats of the game
Faf's impressive performances at the international level were also replicated in the IPL. Over his decade long tenure in the IPL, he has played for the likes of Chennai Super Kings, Rising Pune Supergiants, and Royal Challengers Bangalore
The ex-South Africa captain has played 116 IPL games in which he has scored 3403 runs. He has won the tournament twice with CSK and captained RCB in the 2022 edition
Faf got married to Imari Visser in 2013 and the couple have two daughters together
The 38-year-old remains in phenomenal touch in the T20 format, and many believe he should be a part of South Africa's squad for the upcoming World T20 event
