After a successful T20I series, "Men in Blue" is all set to face the mighty "Proteas" for the first ODI match at DP World Wanderers Stadium. The match will start at 1.30 pm

Team India will clash with South Africa under KL Rahul's captaincy. He offers a lot of flexibility in the team as he can bat at any position. In the absence of senior players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Rahul will be left with a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders

Pace-bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar was also withdrawn from the ODI squad after he expressed his unavailability to travel to South Africa because of a family emergency. The Men’s Selection Committee has named Akash Deep as his replacement

India's mighty leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will also feature in the ODI series against South Africa. He will be returning to the squad after a long period. The last time Chahal played an ODI match was against New Zealand on January 24, 2023. In that match, the leg-spinner bagged two wickets by conceding 43 runs in 7.2 overs

In the T20I series against Australia and South Africa, Rinku Singh showcased his exceptional skills with the willow. The left-hander has also secured his spot in the squad for the ODI series against South Africa. Spectators will keep tabs on Rinku and will expect to deliver another stunning performance

So far, India and South Africa have clashed in 91 ODI matches, of which the Proteas are leading with 50 wins. The Men in Blue have come victorious on 38 occasions. Three matches between the teams ended with no result
