1. Glenn McGrath – Australia

Australian great Glenn McGrath holds the record for most wickets in ICC ODI World Cup history. He took 71 wickets in 39 matches at an economy of 3.96. He is one of the best fast bowlers to have been a part of the game. He also has two five-wicket hauls to his name.

2. Muttiah Muralitharan – Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka’s ace spinner Muralitharan took 68 wickets in 40 matches of his World Cup career. He was a part of the 1996 World Cup winning team.

3. Lasith Malinga – Sri Lanka

Next on the list is another Sri Lankan cricket legend – Lasith Malinga. He took 56 wickets in 29 matches at an economy of 5.51.

4. Wasim Akram – Pakistan

Fourth on the list is Pakistan’s Wasim Akram with 55 wickets in 36 matches. One of Pakistan’s greatest bowlers, he took two crucial wickets in 1992 World Cup final which turned the match in Pakistan’s favour.

5. Mitchell Starc – Australia

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc has 49 World Cup wickets to his name in 18 matches. He is one of the best fast bowlers in current generation. He also holds the record for fastest 150 ODI wickets.
