Sanju Samson was named in the 17-man squad of India in 2014. But due to M.S. Dhoni being a permanent wicketkeeper, he didn't make it to the playing XI and remained as a backup wicket keeper

The Indian team was always in search of no.4 batter. Many players were tested by the board. Even Samson was given chances, but due to continuous failure, he couldn't secure his place in the team

In 2023, Sanju Samson was very close to getting a county deal but was called into the team for Asia Cup 2023 as a reserved player. When KL Rahul became fit for the Asia Cup 2023 tournament, Samson was sent back. Therefore, even the County Cricket deal of Sanju Samson didn't happen

Sanju Samson played 152 IPL matches and scored 3854 runs in 148 Innings. His T20I record is 374 runs in 24 matches. Due to his poor numbers in T20Is, his selection in the national side is always doubtful

Sanju Samson didn't play in Asia Cup 2023 and stayed as a backup player. Due to the Asia Cup 2023 callup, his deal with county cricket didn't happen. Now he is not even the part of World Cup team and not even in Asian Games
