Australia won its first World Cup in 1987 under the captaincy of Allan Border. The Man of the Match for the finals that year was David Boon. He played a knock of 75 runs in 125 balls. Australia also won the World Cup in 1999 under the captaincy of Steve Waugh. After that in 2003 and 2007, Ricky Ponting led the side and won the World Cup in both years. West Indies has won two World Cup titles so far. The captain for both World Cup-winning years was Clive Lloyd. In 1975, Clive Lloyd was declared as Man of the Match and in the year 1979, the West Indian legend Vivian Richards was named as Man of the Match for the final
Pakistan, Sri Lanka and England, all three have won the World Cup once till now. Pakistan won under the captaincy of Imran Khan while Arjuna Ranatunga helped Sri Lanka for the lifting the cup and Eoin Morgan won the title for England in 2019
