Mumbai Cricket Association president Amol Kale on Monday passed away due to cardiac arrest in New York. On Sunday, June 9, Kale attended the T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan at the Nassau County Cricket Stadium

On Wednesday, MCA brought the mortal remains of Kale at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The stadium's Vinoo Mankad Gate had a poster of Amol Kale which read as "Emotional Tribute"

Team India and Mumbai's Ranji team captain Ajinkya Rahane with his wife Radhikha Dhopavkar visited Wankhede Stadium to pay final respects to Kale

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy leader of NCP Jitendra Awhad also made their appearances at the Stadium for the final rites of the MCA president

Bhartiya Janta Party's Mumbai unit president Ashish Shelar also attended the death ceremony in Mumbai. Shelar in 2015 was elected as the vice president of Mumbai Cricket Association and is currently the treasurer of Board of Control for Cricket in India
