The last time India and Pakistan faced each other in ODI format was in Asia Cup 2023. A match played on September 10 in Sri Lanka's R. Premadasa Stadium in which India came victorious by 228 runs. India's top order Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul displayed an extraordinary batting performance with India setting a target of 357 runs for Pakistan. Rohit Sharma smashed 56 runs, Shubman Gill smashed 58 runs, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored unbeaten 122 runs and 111 runs against Pakistan's bowling attck

After the Indian batters, the game was in the hands of bowlers. India's mystery spinner Kuldeep Yadav bagged 5 wickets for 25 runs against Pakistan. Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur had one wicket each in their pockets. No Pakistan batsman was able to score 30 runs, their innings ended at a score of 128 runs in 32 overs

In Asia Cup 2023, another match between arch-rivals was played in Sri Lanka's Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. In this match, India won the toss and elected to bat first. With Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill opening the innings for India, the team lost early wickets of batting's top order. Hardik Pandya and Ishan Kishan then took control in their hands and helped India set a target of 267 runs against Pakistan. Hardik Pandya played an inning of 87 runs in 90 balls and Ishan Kishan smashed 82 runs in 81 balls. Both, together stabilized India's innings. Pakistan's team didn't bat at that match due to weather conditions. The match was called off and it ended with no result

In the ICC World Cup 2019, a match played between India and Pakistan ended in India's favour. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl first. Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul opened the innings. Rohit Sharma scored 140 runs in just 113 balls and Rahul played an inning of 57 runs in 78 balls. After the dismissal of Rahul, Virat Kohli shook hands with Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli scored 77 runs in just 65 balls. India ended their inning with a target of 337 runs for 5 wickets. Pakistan's Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam and Imad Wasim tried their best to snatch the win from India. Pakistan ended the match with 212 runs for 6 wickets. India won the match by 89 runs

In Asia Cup 2018, on September 23, a match between India and Pakistan was played at Dubai International Stadium. Pakistan opted to bat first after winning the toss. Pakistan's inning ended with a score of 237 runs for 7 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav picked 2 wickets each. In the second inning of the match, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan smashed 111 runs and 114 runs, respectively. India won the match by 9 wickets 

In Asia Cup 2018, September 19 match at Dubai International Stadium between India and Pakistan, Sarfaraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to bat first. Pakistan was bowled out for 162 runs. India's Rohit Sharma smashed 52 runs and Shikhar Dhawan scored 46 runs. Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik made 31 runs each. India won the match by 8 wickets
