The first time Royal Challengers Bengaluru finished in the top four was in the IPL 2009. After qualifying in the top four, they ended up playing the finals against Deccan Chargers in which they faced a defeat by six runs

In the very next season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru managed to reach the playoffs under Anil Kumble's captaincy. The side faced a defeat by 35 runs against Mumbai Indians in the first semi-final

In the 2011 edition of the Indian Premier League, RCB managed to make it to the finals. They faced Chennai Super Kings for the title clash at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Royal Challengers Bengaluru ended their season as the runners-up as they lost the match by 58 runs

In IPL 2015, after qualifying for the playoffs, RCB defeated Rajasthan Royals by  71 runs. Later, the side fell short of securing a victory against CSK as Chennai won the match by three wickets

Royal Challengers Bengaluru made it to the finals of the IPL 2016. They clashed with Sunrisers Hyderabad at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Bengaluru again fell short in their efforts to win the title as Hyderabad won the match by eight runs

Despite qualifying for the playoffs of the IPL 2020, RCB lost the match against SRH. Hyderabad won the match by six wickets and Bengaluru ended their IPL 2020 campaign with a loss

An IPL 2021 playoffs match between RCB and Kolkata Knight Riders at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium saw Bengaluru lose the match. KKR secured a win over RCB by four wickets

In IPL 2022, RCB managed to play the semi-finals against Rajasthan Royals at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Bengaluru yet ended up on the losing side as Rajasthan won the match by seven wickets

In the IPL 2024, RCB managed to reach the playoffs after having a roller-coaster season. On Saturday, the side defeated CSK by 27 runs to seal the playoffs berth
