India's star spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is topping the list of the active players with the most wickets. In 13 Test matches against South Africa, Ashwin has bagged 56 wickets. His best bowling figures against the Proteas are seven wickets for 66 runs which came during the third test match at Nagpur in 2015. India won that match by 124 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin also received the "Player of the Match Award" for his exceptional show with the ball

Mohammed Shami

 Star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami is the second player on the list. The speedster has registered 48 wickets against South Africa in 11 test matches. Shami's best bowling figures against the South Africans are five wickets for 28 runs which he claimed during the third test at Johannesburg in 2018. India won the match by 63 runs

Kagiso Rabada

South Africa's lead pacer Kagiso Rabada is the third player on the list. So far, he has featured in 12 Test matches against India and has bagged 44 wickets. Rabada's best bowling figures are four wickets for 42 runs against India

Ravindra Jadeja

The fourth spot in the list is in the name of India's all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. The veteran Indian spinner has just played eight tests against South Africa and has picked 42 wickets. In a test match between India and South Africa, Jadeja once picked six wickets for 138 runs which are his best bowling figures to date

Ishant Sharma

Speedster Ishant Sharma has represented India in 15 test matches against South Africa in which has picked 31 wickets. During the first test match between India and South Africa at  New Wanderers Stadium in 2013, Ishant dismissed four of the South African batsmen by conceding just 79 runs which are his best bowling figures to date
