Kohli also has eight half-centuries and five centuries against the Proteas. In a match at Cape Town, Kohli scored an unbeaten 160 runs against South Africa. His innings was laced by 12 fours and 2 sixes
Shikhar Dhawan
India's star opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan comes in the second position on the list. The left-hander has featured in 24 ODI matches against South Africa and has registered 992 runs to his name. The veteran opener also has six half-centuries and three centuries under his belt. Dhawan's highest score against the Proteas is 137, which came during the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground
Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma holds the third spot on the list of active players to score the most runs. He has played against South Africa in 26 ODI outings. The star Indian batsman has scored 806 runs including two half-centuries and three centuries. In a match at Green Park, Kanpur, Rohit Sharma smashed 150 runs against the Proteas which is his highest score to date
David Miller
South Africa's destructive batsman David Miller has scored 501 runs in 26 ODI matches against India. So far, the batter has registered just two half-centuries against India. His highest score is 75 runs against India which came in the year 2002
Ajinkya Rahane
Ajinkya Rahane represented India in 13 ODI matches against South Africa. The right-handed batsman has registered 474 runs including five half-centuries. Rahane's highest score against South Africa is 87 runs which he scored during the 5th ODI match at Wankhede Stadium. That day, he smashed 9 fours and 3 sixes
