Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer, both carved their partnership of 200 runs by smashing 104 runs and 105 runs respectively. Shreyas Iyer's ton was a comeback after undergoing continuous injuries. He smashed 105 runs in just 90 balls including 11 fours and 3 sixes
After the dismissal of Gill and Iyer, other Indian batters didn't stop. Captain KL Rahul attained a quick 52 runs in just 38 balls and Surya Kumar Yadav smashed a solid unbeaten 72 runs in just 37 balls. Even Ishan Kishan scored 31 runs in 18 deliveries to help India put up a total of 399 runs
After the blistering first innings of India, Australia needed to chase down a score of 400 runs against India for a win. David Warner smashed 53 runs off 39 balls and was about to pull the game towards Australia. But Ravichandran Ashwin striked at the right time and ended Warner's innings
With Sean Abbott smashing 54 runs, Ravindra Jadeja took his wicket at the right time to stop the Aussies from chasing the target. Both Indian spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin picked 3 wickets each. Even pacers Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna picked 1 wicket and 2 wickets respectively
