He is currently sharing the record of most T20I centuries with the ICC number one T20I batsman Suryakumar Yadav and Australia's star all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who have four centuries each. If the star Indian opener scores a century against Afghanistan in this series then he will be the first player to score five T20I centuries

Former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni holds the record for most T20I wins as captain which is 41. So far, Rohit Sharma has captained India in 51 T20I matches out of which has registered 39 wins. If Team India wins all three matches against Afghanistan under Sharma's captaincy, he will be the most successful Indian captain in T20Is
