Former Pakistan's big, muscular speedster Shoaib Akhtar has etched his name at the top of the list of fastest ball bowled in World Cup history. Akhtar was also called 'Rawalpindi Express' due to his fierce pace. Akhtar bowled the fastest ball in World Cup history ever. In the ICC World Cup 2003, a match between England and Pakistan at Capetown, Akhtar bowled at a speed of 161.3 kmph

Former Australian speedster Brett Lee bowled the second-fastest ball in ICC World Cup history. Brett Lee used to threaten batsmen with his aggression and the ability to swing the ball at a consistent pace. He bowled at a speed of 160.7 kmph against England in ICC World Cup 2003

Brett Lee also bowled the third-fastest ball in the World Cup history. He then bowled at a speed of 160.1 kmph against Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2003

Pakistan's Shoaib Akhtar has his name registered for the fourth, fifth and sixth fastest balls in the World Cup history. Akhtar bowled 159.5 kmph, 158.5 kmph, 158.4 kmph in the same match. Akhtar's fastest ball and the rest of these deliveries came in the same match and in the same over against England in the ICC World Cup 2003

Pakistan's Mohammad Sami and New Zealand's Shane Bond have their names registered for the seventh fastest balls bowled in World Cup history. Both bowled at a speed of 156.4 kmph. Shane Bond bowled against India and Mohammad Sami bowled against Zimbabwe in the ICC World Cup 2003
