The clash between Australia and Sri Lanka will be played in Lucknow's Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. The coin for the toss will be flipped around 1.00 pm and the match will start at 2.00 pm. So far, Sri Lanka has been playing the tournament under Dasun Shanaka's captaincy, but there will be a change in the Sri Lankan side in the remainder of the ICC World Cup 2023
Sri Lanka suffered a major blow after skipper Dasun Shanaka was ruled out of the remainder of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup due to injury. The Event Technical Committee of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 has approved Chamika Karunaratne as a replacement for Dasun Shanaka in the Sri Lankan squad
Karunaratne who has played 23 ODIs, was named as a replacement after Shanaka was ruled out due to a right thigh muscle injury that he faced during Sri Lanka’s match against Pakistan on October 10. The injury needs three weeks to recover. Karunaratne is already in India and has been travelling with the team as their reserve player and could come into contention to play Sri Lanka's match against Australia
Kusal Mendis who was taken to hospital after scoring a century against Pakistan due to cramps was vice-captain of the Sri Lankan team in the presence of captain Dasun Shanaka. In-form batter, is expected to step up and take the captaincy reins in the absence of Shanaka
Squads:
Australia: Pat Cummins (c), Steve Smith, Alex Carey, Josh Inglis, Sean Abbott, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Marnus Labuschagne, Mitch Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa, Mitchell Starc

Australia has not won a single match out of the two games they played in the ICC World Cup 2023 so far. On the other hand, even Sri Lanka's condition is the same. Even they have faced defeats in their previous two games of the tournament. Both teams will look to secure two points and register their first win in the ICC World Cup 2023. An fighting contest between Sri Lanka and Australia awaits!
