Rohit Sharma made his international debut on 23rd June 2007 under current head coach Rahul Dravid’s captaincy in an ODI game in Ireland. However, he did not get a chance to hit the ball as the Indian team completed the run chase losing only 1 wicket.
Till now, Rohit Sharma has played 243 ODIs, 50 Test matches and 148 T20Is. He has 17,115 international runs and 43 international hundreds to his name.
Rohit Sharma made his Test debut on November 6, 2013 against West Indies at Eden Gardens. He was quick to prove his skills in red-ball cricket as he smashed a spectacular century on debut. He scored 177 runs, remaining just 23 runs short of a double century.
Rohit Sharma currently holds the record of most T20 International matches played. He has played 148 T20Is from 2007 to 2022, scoring 3853 runs and four centuries. He also has the second highest runs in T20Is.
He currently holds the record for the highest individual score in an innings in ODI. He scored 264 runs against Sri Lanka at Eden Gardens in 2014. He has also scored the most centuries in a single series (Cricket World Cup) - 5 centuries in ICC Cricket World Cup, 2019 in England.
