Kishan came to prominence when he led the Indian U19 squad in the 2016 ICC Under-19 World Cup. Despite a strong tournament, they fell at the final hurdle against West Indies

Quickly thereafter, the talented left-hander imposed himself as a vital member of the Jharkhand side

Kishan made his IPL debut in 2016 for the Gujarat Lions. However, he struggled to find consistency in his first few IPL seasons

The 2020 IPL season proved to be the turning point as he played a starring role in Mumbai Indians' title victory. In that season, Kishan scored over 500 runs at an average of over 57 and a strike rate of 146.

Thanks to his IPL exploits he made his debut for the Indian team in 2021, a T20I against England

He has currently played 3 ODIs and 18 T20Is for the national team. He has scored over 600 runs across the two formats and has 5 fifties to his tally as well
