Dale Steyn was a right arm fast bowler who could swing the ball both ways at high pace. He made his international debut for the Proteas at the age of 21, playing in a Test against England
Steyn made his ODI debut in 2005 and his T20I debut in 2007. He would quickly go on to become one of the most fearsome bowlers in world cricket
Dale Steyn holds the record for being the no.1 ranked Test bowler in the world for the longest duration
Steyn's global success also translated to the IPL where he soon became a star for Deccan Chargers and subsequently Sunrisers Hyderabad. His last IPL stint was with Royal Challengers Banagalore in 2020. Steyn played 93 IPL matches in his career and picked up 97 wickets at an economy of under 7
Dale was a pivotal part of the brilliant South African team that dominated Test cricket in the 2010s
Steyn retired from Test cricket in 2019 with 439 wickets to his name from 93 games at an average of 22.95
The Proteas speedster played 172 limited-overs matches for his national team where he picked up a combined 260 wickets
He retired from all formats of the game in 2021, but has now begun a coaching career as a bowling coach with the IPL team Sunrisers Hyderabad
