Born on October 16, 1975, Jacques Kallis is a former South African cricketer, and, a former Test and ODI captain

Jacques Kallis is regarded as one of the greatest all-rounders of all time and one of the game's greatest cricketers.

Jacques Kallis is one of the very few cricketers in the history of the game to score more than 10,000 runs and take over 250 wickets in both ODI and Test matches, pouching 131 ODI catches along the way as well.

Jacques Kallis shared a close relationship with his father, Henry, and has also credited him as a huge and primary influence in his game. Kallis took a break from cricket to be with his father when he discovered that he had terminal cancer. Jacques' father passed away shortly after the discovery.

Jacques Kallis got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Charlene Engels in April 2018. The couple were dating for three years prior to making it official.

Jacques Kallis and Charlene got married in 2019. On March 11, 2020, Kallis and Charlene had a son and named him Joshua.

Jacques Kallis made his Test debut in December 1995 and had played 166 matches scoring a whopping 13,289 runs at a stunning average of 55.37. Kallis also took 292 wickets and 200 catches respectively His best bowling is 6/54.

Jacques Kallis has a total of 45 Test centuries and 58 fifties. His highest test score is 224.

Jacques Kallis' total of 45 Test tons is the second highest in the format of the game only behind Sachin Tendulkar (51).

Jacques Kallis is the third-highest run scorer in Tests after Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting and among the only 4 batsmen (along with Rahlu Dravid) to score more than 13,000 Test runs.

Jacques Kallis made his ODI debut for South Africa in January 1996. Kallis played 328 ODI matches and scored 11,579 runs at an average of 44.36. Kallis has 17 centuries and 86 fifties in ODIs. Kallis also took 273 wickets in ODIs with best figures of 5/30

Jacques Kallis ranks 8th in the list of top run scorers in ODIs. His 86 fifties is the fourth-highest on the list in ODIs.

TRIVIA: Jacques Kallis is the only cricketer as of 2020 in the game's history to score more than 10,000 runs and take over 250 wickets in both Tests and ODIs.

Jacques Kallis also played domestic cricket for IPL franchises Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders besides other teams such as Western Province, Sydney Thunder, Cape Cobras, Middlesex, Glamorgan, Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel.

In his IPL career, Kallis played 98 matches and scored 2,427 runs averaging at 28.55 and a top score of 89*. He has a total of 17 fifties. Kallis has also taken 65 wickets.

Jacques Kallis has scored more runs than his contemporaries Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid in IPL.
