There have been outstanding performances by some big names during the Cricket World Cup 2019. Right from Ben Stokes, to Jasprit Bumrah the match-winners have stood up for their teams. Butthere are some big names that carried a huge reputation while walking into the World Cup, who have not exactly done justice to the occasion. Here is our list of mis-hits who promised a lot but did not deliver much.

Andre Russell was the most feared all-rounder in the world while heading into the 2019 World Cup. He single-handedly won Kolkata Knight Riders' games in the IPL 2019. But he could not match up to the high standards he had set. Russell scored only 36 runs and took 5 wickets in the World Cup 2019 before he was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. Pakistan were counting on their most experienced player Shoaib Malik to anchor the ship in the middle-order for the team during crunch situations. But Shoaib Malik had a horror World Cup, he scored just 8 runs in 3 matches which included two ducks before he was dropped for the rest of the tournament. Vijay Shankar was known as India's 3-D man while heading into the World Cup. He was supposed to hit big, take wickets and stop runs while fielding in crucial positions. Rashid Khan has been blowing hot in the past couple of years with his unbelievable bowling in the IPL and other tournaments since the past couple of years.
