Rohan Gavaskar was born, February 20, 1976, in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh

Rohan Gavaskar is a former Indian cricketer and son of cricket legend and 'little master' Sunil Gavaskar.

Sunil Gavaskar originally named his son Rohan in tribute of three cricketers - Rohan Kanhai, M. L. Jaisimha and Gundappa Vishwanath.

Besides his father Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary cricketer, Rohan Gavaskar's family boasts of some big cricket names - his uncle Gundappa Viswanath and great-uncle Madhav Mantri, both represented India

Rohan Gavaskar is the alumnus of at St. Xaviers Collegiate School, Kolkata, Bombay Scottish School, and Ramniranjan Anandilal Podar College of Commerce and Economics.

Rohan Gavaskar was a middle-order batsman and would also occasionally bowl in a slow--left-arm orthodox style.

Rohan Gavaskar always spent his cricketing days living in the shadow of his father Sunil Gavaskar.

Rohan Gavaskar made his international ODI debut in January 2004. He played his last ODI a few months later in September that year.

In first class cricket, Rohan Gavaskar played 117 matches with 6,938 runs to his name.

At a batting average of 44.19, Rohan Gavaskar has 18 centuries and 34 fifties under his belt. His highest score is an unbeaten 212.

During his stint as captain of Bengal Ranji team in 2001-2002, he led them to the finals in two consecutive years but failed to lift the trophy.

Rohan Gavaskar announced his retirement from first-class cricket in February 2012. 

Rohan Gavaskar has played 11 ODIs scoring 151 runs at an average of 18.87. His highest score is 54. Rohan also took 1 wicket.

Rohan Gavaskar has not played a single ODI at home. During his 11 match career, Rohan toured England, Australia and Netherlands
