Kane Williamson turns 30: Fun, interesting facts you must know about the Kiwi captain

Kane Williamson is a New Zealand cricketer who is also the captain of the national team.

Kane Williamson is regarded as one of the best batsmen of the current generation and a part of the Fab Four (which includes, Virat Kohli, Joe Root and Steve Smith).

Kane Williamson is a right-handed batsman who is known for his exemplary cover drives and pull shots.

Not many people may know that Kane Williamson has a twin brother just a few minutes younger than him. His twin brother's name is Logan.

Both twins Kane Williamson and Logan Williamson excelled in various sports in school, such as Rugby, Field Hockey, Volleyball, Soccer and of course cricket.

Rumour has it that Kane Williamson scored 40 plus centuries in school while playing various inter-school tournaments.

Kane Williamson made his IPL debut in 2015 after he was bought at the IPL auctions for USD 96,500 by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Kane Williamson won the 2016 IPL title with Sunrisers Hyderabad, under the leadership od David Warner. In the 2018 IPL auction, Sunrisers Hyderabad retained Kane Williamson for Rs. 3 crore. 

After Warner's exit as captain, Williamson took over and led the team to the 2018 IPL final. He was also the highest run-scorer in IPL 2018 earning the Orange Cap.

Kane Williamson has played a total of 41 IPL matches with 1,302 runs at an average of 38.9. His top score is 89.

Making his test debut in November 2010, Kane Williamson played a total of 80 Test matches for New Zealand scoring 6,476 runs at an impressive 50.99 average.

Kane Williamson has 21 centuries and32 fifties in Test cricket to his name. His top score in the longest format of the game is  an unbeaten 242.

Kane Williamson made his ODI debut for NZ in August 2010 and has gone to play 151 matches scoring 6,173 runs averaging at 47.48.

Kane Williamson has scored a total of 13 ODI centuries and 39 fifties. His top score is 148. Kane Williamson posted this picture when he celebrated Diwali for the first time in India. 

After Brendon McCullum stepped down as New Zealand's captain, Kane Williamson took over full-time in 2016 and led them to the finals at the 2019 World Cup.
