Umar admitted a level two breach of the International Cricket Council code at the Premadasa Stadium on Thursday - for "conduct contrary to the spirit of the game".
He changed his gloves in the 17th over having ignored umpires Rod Tucker and Simon Taufel's request not to do so at that stage.
ICC match referee Jeff Crowe said: "Respect for the umpires is integral and is something we always emphasise and encourage."
