Sourav Ganguly, Roger Binny, Jay Shah attend meeting to elect new BCCI President

BCCI held the Annual General Meeting at the Taj hotel in Mumbai, today. Former Indian cricketer Roger Binny, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly,
Former IPL Chairman Rajiv Shukla and secy Jay shah were also present at the meeting.

Ganguly, who had to step down from the BCCI president's post as there is no precedence of anyone continuing in the top job for more than three years, had been the CAB president for four years between 2015 to 2019 before coming to the apex body.

If there is no change in heart among the BCCI mandarins, then Ganguly as CAB president would mean that he would remain relevant in the Board's administrative corridors in some capacity, being their representative at the various board meetings.

"Yes, I will be contesting the CAB polls. I plan to file my nomination on October 22. I have been in CAB for five years and as per Lodha rules,I can continue for another four years," Ganguly told PTI.

The election of the next set of office-bearers will be a mere formality as all are set to be elected unopposed. However, the member will deliberate if BCCI should field a candidate for the ICC chair or support incumbent Greg Barclay for a second term.The last date for filing the nominations for the ICC top job is October 20. The ICC Board will meet from November 11-13 in Melbourne.

As now Roger Binny will replace ganguly as the BCCI president . The other BCCI office bearers, who will be elected unanimously include secretary Jay Shah, Ashish Shelar (treasurer), Rajeev Shukla (vice-president) and Devajit Saikia (join secretary). Outgoing treasurer Arun Dhumal will be the new IPL chairman.
