An angiography is likely to be conducted today on former India skipper Sourav Ganguly here, it is learnt. The BCCI president on Wednesday morning felt some uneasiness in his chest and was rushed to the hospital after consulting Dr Saptarshi Basu. Ganguly's wife Dona drove him to the hospital, while daughter Sana and his brother Snehasish joined them later.
"Sourav Ganguly, 48 years old male, has come for a checkup of his cardiac condition. There is no change in his parameters since his last hospitalisation and his vital parameters are stable," read a statement from the Apollo Gleneagles Hospital.
It is learnt that there were some anxious moments on Wednesday when Ganguly was rushed to the hospital. Almost all officials of the Cricket Association of Bengal were present at the hospital. Doctors are investigating the cause of Ganguly's uneasiness.
A call on the further course of treatment will be taken following extensive discussions by the hospital's panel of doctors. This is the second time in less than four weeks that Ganguly has had to be hospitalised. On January 2 he had compained of chest pain while working out in his gym and underwent angioplasty before being discharged on January 7.
