India cricketer and Delhi Capitals opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan received his first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday. DC's Dhawan also urged his fans and followers to get vaccinated in order to 'defeat' the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Shikhar Dhawan, who is an active cricketer on social media, also went on to share a photo of him getting the Covid-19 vaccine on his Twitter handle. In his post, Dhawan thanked the 'frontline warriors' who have helped the nation during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Dhawan wrote, "Vaccinated â Can't thank all our frontline warriors enough for their sacrifices and dedication. Please do not hesitate and get yourself vaccinated as soon as possible. Shikhar Dhawan was part of the Delhi Capitals team at the recently-suspended IPL 2021 edition. Delhi Capitals were on top of the IPL points table with 12 points from 8 matches, followed by Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings and Virat Kohli's Royal Challengers Bangalore respectively.
Shikhar Dhawan was also the Orange Cap holder as the leading run-scorer of IPL 2021 with 380 runs from 8 matches including 3 fifties at an impressive average of 54.28. His top score was 92. During the IPL 2020 season that was held in the UAE, Shikhar Dhawan was the second-highest run-scorer with 618 runs only behind Punjab Kings' KL Rahul (670 runs).
