Shane Warne and ex-wife Simone Callahan
Australian cricket great Shane Warne has revealed that he cried in his hotel room floor after his ex-wife Simone Callahan left him in 2005.
According to The Sun, Simone had come to England to start life afresh with him as the Ashes series was about to begin. But when stories about him appeared in the newspapers of him seeing other women including student Laura Sayers and a mother-of-three Kerrie Collimore, Simone took his three kids and flew back to Australia.
The crowd would be singing, "where's your missus gone?" for hours daily. In a new documentary, Shane, the former cricketer said: "I think that was the lowest. The impact on my children, they wouldn't get to see me and that was my fault. I would go back and raid the mini bar. I was on my own on the hotel room floor, crying âyou d'''head.' "
Warne, whose former fiancee was actor Liz Hurley, added: "The only way I got over everything was because I was tough upstairs. I blocked everything out." Warne was named the player of the series along with Andrew Flintoff (England) in the series which England won 2-1.
