Mumbai U-19 girls with the winners trophy
Thanks to solid all-round performances, Mumbai defeated Maharashtra by eight wickets in the final of the BCCI Women's Under-19 one-day competition in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh on Thursday.
Mumbai captain Zeal D'Mello's decision to bowl first was justified by medium pacers Hurley Gala (4 for 23) and Ashwini Nishad (3 for 24).
They bowled in tandem to destroy Maharashtra.

Maharashtra, unable to negotiate the quick deliveries, were dismissed for 89 in 33.3 overs. Samruddhi Dale was the lone batswoman to defy the Mumbai bowlers, making 29 before being run out towards the end.
Chasing an easy target, the Mumbai innings suffered an early setback when opener Sadhvi Sanjay was caught and bowled by Aditi Waghmare with the scoreboard
reading four in the second over.
But Sanika Chalke and Saloni Kushte batted confidently to stitch a fine 83-run, second wicket partnership in 14.5 overs to put Mumbai on top.
Sanika top-scored with a 49-ball 43 which included nine boundaries while Saloni scored a composed 33 not out with five hits to the ropes as Mumbai won easily with plenty to spare.
