Left-arm spinner Vivaan Jobanputra (4-62) and off-spinner Jasmeet Singh (3-46) starred with the ball as Modern English School defeated Don Bosco, Matunga, by virtue of a first innings lead in the semi-finals of the MSSA U-14 Giles Shield inter-school tournament at the Police Gymkhana on Wednesday.
Resuming at their overnight score of 12-1, the Matunga outfit ended up with 151-9 in 80 overs while chasing 198. Rugved Lad was the top scorer for Don Bosco with 35.

In the other semi-final, Al Barkaat MMI could not manage to surpass Oxford Public School's mammoth score of 306-6 in the stipulated 80 overs at MCA-BKC. Al Barkaat MMI were bowled out for 239 with left-arm pacer Parth Nalawade and leg-spinner Caleb Almeida claiming three wickets each.

The final will be held at Wankhede Stadium from January 19 to 21.
