Islam Gymkhana showed tremendous resilience to clinch a two-run win over MCA Colts in a first round match of the Bombay Gymkhana-organised Nirlon RFS Talyarkhan Memorial Invitation Cricket Tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana ground on Friday.
MCA Colts all-rounder Shivam Dubey impressed with five wickets for just six runs, which included a hat-trick and a composed 20-ball 30 runs, but his efforts went in vain.
Put in to bat, Islam Gymkhana amassed 142 all out in 18.4 overs. Middle-order batsman Raunaq Sharma top scored with 44 (36-balls, 3x4, 2x6), while Sagar Jadhav contributed a 14-ball 28. Dhanit Raut picked 3-34.

In reply, MCA Colts lacked confidence and were unable to make useful contributions. Only Dubey, Hardik Tamore, who scored an unbeaten 28 runs (21 balls, 2x4, 1x6) and Armaan Jaffer 24 runs (22 balls, 2x4) were decent contributors. Nadeem Shaikh (2-20) was Islam Gymkhana's most successful blower.
